Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the voltage on the signal cable to the intake air control valve. If the signal is too low, the fault code is stored. Although the code refers to a position sensor, the signal concerned comes from the intake air control valve. The code is general and does not specify the type of fault.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the contacts
- Cable short-circuited to ground
- Damaged control valve in the intake air inlet
- Air leak in the intake system
- Damaged throttle valve

- 1Read the fault code, clear it and test drive the car to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact; their locations are shown in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 3Check the connectors at the control valve and at the control module for loose connections, oxidation and corrosion
- 4Check the signal cable for breaks and chafing; with a multimeter, confirm that the cable has no contact with ground (the body)
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: read the signal from the control valve in live data with the ignition on and see whether it is too low
- 6If the fault remains: have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the control valve, the throttle valve and the intake system for leaks
