If the engine control module (ECM) detects emission-related misfires on cylinder 3 shortly after the engine starts, the fault code is stored. It shows that cylinder 3 is the one misfiring.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Low fuel level
- Clogged crankcase ventilation
- Damaged VVT unit
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Uneven compression
- Damaged ignition coil

- 1Read the fault codes; camshaft codes should be traced first
- 2Check that the fuel tank holds enough fuel and that the intake system does not leak
- 3Check the ignition coil on cylinder 3 and its connectors for damage or oxidation
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the misfire counter for cylinder 3 with the engine running and see whether it differs from the others
- 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the crankcase ventilation, the fuel pressure and the compression
