    Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?

The signal from the left knock sensor is too low, which can be caused by the cable being short-circuited to ground or by a break (open circuit). The engine control module (ECM) compares the signal with its limit values and sets the fault code when the signal lies outside them.

    Mögliche Ursachen

    • Signal cable short-circuited to ground
    • Contact resistance in the knock sensor connections
    • Break in the signal cable
    • Short circuit between the knock sensors' signal cables
    • Damaged knock sensor

    Was Sie tun können

    1. 1Clear the fault code and drive the car; check whether it returns
    2. 2Measure the cable from the control module to the left knock sensor: it should be unbroken, and with a multimeter it should have no contact with ground (the body)
    3. 3Check the earth wire and the connectors in the harness for contact resistance and oxidation
    4. 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the knock signal in live data with the engine running and see whether the value is missing or stays at a constant low level
    5. 5Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check and repair the wiring to the knock sensor

    Symptome, die Sie bemerken können1

    • Poor performance and lack of power while driving

    Was der Fehler beeinflussen kann2

    • Ignition timing is retarded as a safety measure
    • Boost pressure is reduced

Allgemeine Hinweise für Fahrzeughalter. Die Diagnose am Fahrzeug kann eine andere Ursache zeigen.
