Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
The crankshaft sensor does not register the engine rotating backwards when it is switched off during an automatic stop, so the sensor may have jammed. The engine control module (ECM) monitors the sensor signals, and the fault is stored when the signal is missing or incorrect. The code may therefore only appear after several automatic stops and restarts.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connections
- Short circuit on the cables to the sensor
- Crankshaft sensor fitted incorrectly
- Damaged crankshaft sensor
- Worn teeth on the timing belt
- Camshaft fitted incorrectly
Was Sie tun können
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, start the engine and read the fault status. 'No fault found' means the fault is not active right now.
- 2Check that the fuses are intact.
- 3With the ignition off, check that the connector at the crankshaft sensor is secure and free from contact resistance and oxidation.
- 4Check that the crankshaft sensor is correctly fitted and that no cable with high current draw lies too close to the sensor or its wiring.
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the crankshaft sensor signal in live data when the engine starts after an automatic stop, and check that the value rises steadily.
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop check the timing belt, the camshaft and the crankshaft sensor.
Symptome, die Sie bemerken können5
- Check engine light is on or behaves abnormally
- Engine does not start, sometimes or every time
- Text message and warning symbol shown in the display
- Car lacks power, especially when pulling away from standstill
- Car hesitates or jerks while driving, for example during acceleration or when slowing down
