Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
The engine control module (ECM) requests a fan speed from the electric fan control module, which varies the voltage to the fan motor steplessly. The code is set when the ECM finds that the fan runs too slowly or that the signal between the ECM and the fan control module is faulty. The fan may keep running for a while after the engine is switched off, which is normal. The code is general.
Mögliche Ursachen
- A blocked fan blade, a blocked fan motor or a sticking electric fan
- Open circuit in the voltage supply or voltage wire to the electric fan
- Damaged electric fan, damaged fan control module or internal fault in the fan control module
- Open circuit in the signal wire, or a short to ground or supply voltage in it
- Loose contact, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Fault codes ECM-P048031, ECM-P048071 or ECM-P048068 can cause this code, so check them first
Was Sie tun können
- 1With the ignition off, check that nothing blocks the fan blades and that they turn freely
- 2Start with the fuse for the electric fan. Its location is given in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover
- 3Disconnect the electric fan connector and check that it is secure and free from oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no open circuit and is not short-circuited to ground or supply voltage
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault status with the ignition on and see whether the fault is still active
- 6If the fault remains, have a workshop check the electric fan control module and the wiring
Symptome, die Sie bemerken können2
- The engine can overheat or run hot
- The electric cooling fan does not work
