Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
The ECM monitors the exhaust gas temperature. The code is set when the reading from the sensor before the catalytic converter is too low and deviates from the expected value. The fault may be a short or break in the signal wire, the ground wire or the connections, or a damaged sensor.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Ground wire shorted to supply voltage, or a break in the ground wire
- Contact resistance, oxidation or break in the connections
- Damaged exhaust temperature sensor before the catalytic converter
Was Sie tun können
- 1Check the exhaust temperature sensor connector for oxidation, loose contacts and chafed wiring
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire is not shorted to ground or supply voltage
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the ground wire has no break and is not shorted to supply voltage
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the exhaust temperature in live data with the engine running and see whether the value changes as the engine is loaded
- 5Clear the code and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensor and its wiring
