Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
The engine control module (ECM) checks the brake pedal through two switches, the stop lamp switch and the brake pedal switch, which are integrated in the same component. The ECM also receives brake light information from the central electronic module (CEM) over the CAN network. Although the code is named alive or sequence counter, it applies when the signal over CAN is missing or the two switches do not agree on the pedal position.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Fault in the central electronic module (CEM)
- Contact resistance, oxidation or loose contact in the connector
- Open circuit or short circuit to ground or supply voltage in the wiring to the stop lamp switch or the brake pedal switch
Was Sie tun können
- 1Check the brake lights and the fuses for them
- 2Check that the connectors near the brake pedal and at the central electronic module are secure and free from oxidation
- 3Check that the brake light and the brake pedal position agree when the pedal is pressed and released, as this is what the control module compares
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: read the trouble codes in the central electronic module and see whether any code relates to the brake light
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the central electronic module and the CAN communication.
- 6If the brake pedal behaves abnormally, have the car checked by a workshop before it is driven further
Symptome, die Sie bemerken können2
- Red warning symbol and text message shown in the driver information display
- Cruise control cannot be engaged
Was der Fehler beeinflussen kann1
- Cruise control is switched off while the fault is active
Allgemeine Hinweise für Fahrzeughalter. Die Diagnose am Fahrzeug kann eine andere Ursache zeigen.
