The code is set when exhaust damper B has stuck between the open and closed positions, which the engine control module (ECM) detects as a performance fault.

- 1Check that the fuses are intact; their location is shown in the owner's manual
- 2On a test drive, listen for unusual exhaust noise when the throttle is varied and when the engine is switched off
- 3Have a workshop check that damper B moves freely, since it may have stuck or be damaged
- 4With a diagnostic tool, activate damper B and see in live data whether the damper position changes
