The airbag control module (SRS) measures the voltage to the PAD lamp, which shows that the passenger airbag is disabled. The fault is stored when the voltage is too low, and the cause can be a wire short-circuited to ground (the body) or poor contact in the connections.

- 1Read and note the code, clear it and see whether it comes back
- 2Have a workshop check the connectors in the wiring to the roof light control unit and to the airbag control module for play, oxidation and contact resistance
- 3Have a workshop check the wire for a short to ground, and any other connectors linking it
- 4Have a workshop correct the fault and confirm the code does not come back
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop carry out the check and the repair
