Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
The transmission control module (TCM) has registered that the signal in the circuit to shift solenoid S5 is too low when the solenoid should be active. The causes are a signal wire short-circuited to ground, a defective solenoid or an internal fault in the control module. The fault affects gear changes and the control module switches to an emergency program.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
- Defective solenoid
- The solenoid does not function
- Internal fault inside the TCM
Was Sie tun können
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the solenoid has no contact with ground (the body)
- 3Check that the wiring and connectors from the gearbox are not chafed or corroded
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate solenoid S5 and check that its status changes between off and on
- 5If the status does not change, the fault is permanent and a workshop should check the wiring and the solenoid
- 6If you have a diagnostic tool: read the transmission fluid temperature during a road test; if it shows unrealistic values, the oil temperature sensor may be faulty
Symptome, die Sie bemerken können5
- The orange general warning lamp is lit
- The lock-up function does not work
- Gear changes are harsh
- Gear changes do not occur
- The automatic transmission warning lamp flashes
Was der Fehler beeinflussen kann2
- The control module emergency program Emergency mode I and the transmission limp-home program Limp-home are activated
- The Emergency mode 1 program is activated in the control module
