Was bedeutet der Fehlercode?
Gear position sensor B, which is part of the transmission control module (TCM), provides information about the selected gear position. The code shows that the signal from the sensor is too high, so the control module cannot read the gear position as it should. For this reason the engine is not allowed to start while the fault is present.
Mögliche Ursachen
- Contact resistance, oxidation or poor connection in connectors and joints
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Misadjusted gear position sensor
- Fault inside the TCM itself

- 1Read and note the code, clear it and check whether it returns
- 2If you have a diagnostic tool: move the selector through all positions and check in live data that the selected position is correct
- 3Have a workshop check the adjustment of the selector cable
- 4If the fault returns, have a workshop check the signal wire for a short to supply voltage and the control module, and replace the transmission control module if needed
