Technical Description
DTC C0173 indicates an electrical malfunction within the Traction Control System (TCS) hydraulic control solenoid valve circuit. The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) continuously monitors the current draw and flyback voltage of the internal valve coils. The DTC is triggered when the low-side driver or internal monitoring circuit detects an open circuit, short to ground, short to voltage, or high circuit resistance in the TCS isolation/prime valve circuit.
Possible Causes
1. Kallödning, mikrosprickor eller sprucken bonding-tråd i EBCM-kretskortet till TCS-drivsteget.
2. Oxiderade eller glappande kontaktstift i ABS/ESP-enhetens flerpoliga huvudkontakt.
3. Avbrott eller kortslutning i TCS-magnetventilens spole inuti hydraulblocket (HCU).
4. Spänningsfall på matningsledning eller fel i externt/internt ventilrelä.
