The vacuum pressure sensor in the brake booster has sent a signal that the brake control module judges to be implausible. The sensor measures the vacuum the brake booster uses to assist braking, so the fault can affect the braking assistance.

- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage or ground
- Damaged vacuum pressure sensor
- Internal fault in the brake control module
Co możesz zrobić
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test the car to see whether it returns
- 2Start the engine and have a workshop read the vacuum pressures with diagnostic equipment while the pedal is pressed
- 3With the engine off, press the brake pedal firmly and hold it, then read the vacuum pressures again; they should match the first reading
- 4If the vacuum pressures do not agree, the vacuum sensor needs replacing by a workshop
- 5The braking system is safety critical: do not work on the brake booster yourself; leave this to a workshop, and drive carefully until the fault is fixed
