Control unit cloning
Module Cloning
We clone ECU, BCM, TCM and IMMO. All software, calibration and immobilizer data is transferred to a working donor unit — no dealer required.
What's included
- Complete data transfer to donor unit
- Immobiliser synchronisation always included
- VIN and OEM matching if required
- Plug & play — no extra programming needed
- 12-month warranty on completed work
Common clone jobs
Every module has its fingerprint.
Module cloning is rarely generic. The control unit type, generation and immobilizer architecture determine what data must move and which symptoms the driver experiences.
Body Electronics

VOLVO · CEM P2 / P3 / SPA
Volvo CEM
Volvo's central module across the P2, P3 and SPA platforms. Controls comfort functions, the CAN gateway and key system. Common faults: immobiliser activation, battery drain and intermittent electrical dropouts.

BMW · MINI · EWS / CAS1–4
BMW & Mini CAS
Covers all generations from EWS1–4 and CAS1–4. Manages key recognition, start authorisation and steering lock logic. Cloning requires synchronisation with the DME/DDE and instrument cluster.

FORD · BCM / GEM / BJB
Ford BCM & GEM
Shared control module across Ford platforms managing power distribution, ignition logic and multi-function systems. Cloning must correctly handle VIN binding and the immobiliser profile.

FIAT · CITROËN · PEUGEOT · BSI
BSI — Built-in Systems Interface
The master body module on PSA and Fiat platforms. Manages ignition, alarm, lighting and network communication. Requires pairing with keys and, where fitted, the audio system and display.

ECU · ENGINE CONTROL UNIT
Engine Control Unit (ECU)
The ECU governs fuel injection, ignition timing, turbocharger control and emissions management. Cloning preserves the VIN, OBD calibration and all learned adaptation values — regardless of make, supplier or generation.
Search ECU families
TCM · TRANSMISSION CONTROL
Transmission Control Unit (TCM)
The TCM manages shift points, torque limits and adaptive gear-change learning. Typical fault symptoms include harsh or missed shifts, gearbox emergency mode and P0700-family fault codes.

How it works
Three steps. No guesswork.
Diagnosis & read-out
We check communication on the bench where possible. For component-level cloning we visually inspect the donor unit — looking for signs of previous overheating, oxidation on connection points or damage to the circuit board before proceeding.
Donor match & cloning
The customer is responsible for sourcing the correct donor unit — OEM number, hardware revision and generation must match. If the unit is rare or hard to find, we can help identify the correct part before you order.
Test & return
We measure power draw and verify that the programming is correct. Communication is checked on the bench one final time before the unit is packed and returned. In-vehicle verification takes place when the unit is reinstalled by you or your workshop.
Unlocking & virginisation
Unlocked for installation in another vehicle.
Control units in modern vehicles are linked to the vehicle's immobiliser system and cannot be installed directly in another vehicle. We perform unlocking and virginisation so the unit can be paired to a new vehicle — without a donor vehicle.
Mercedes-Benz
Control units are paired to the vehicle's authorisation system (FBS). FBS3 can in most cases be unlocked via dump-based processing — FBS4 is cryptographically stronger and requires more advanced handling depending on hardware generation.

ECU · ME / CDI / PLD
ECU
The engine control unit is paired to the vehicle's authorisation system (FBS3/FBS4). We unlock the unit via dump-based processing and clear the pairing data — required before installation in another vehicle and reprogramming via Star Diagnosis.

EGS · VGS · TCU · 7G-TRONIC / FDCT
EGS / VGS
The gearbox module is bound to the FBS system and cannot be swapped directly with a second-hand unit. VGS2 and FDCT2 variants can be unlocked, removing existing pairing and enabling re-pairing to a new vehicle without donor data.

ISM · DSM · INTEGRATED STARTER
ISM / DSM
The ISM and DSM are hardware-bound to the vehicle's FBS key data and will block starting if installed in the wrong vehicle. Dump-based unlocking clears the active pairing and allows re-pairing with the receiving vehicle.

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER · DIM · IC177
Instrument Cluster
The instrument cluster stores odometer data, VIN and SSID and communicates with the EZS and SAM. We handle SSID repair and unit unlocking — required when swapping a second-hand cluster before re-pairing with a new vehicle.

AIRBAG · SRS · CRASH CONTROL UNIT
Airbag / SRS
When an airbag system has deployed, crash dumps and a VIN lock are stored in the SRS module. We clear crash dumps and repair the VIN binding — enabling reuse of the unit and a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new SRS unit.
Renault
Control units are coded to the UCH (Unite de Contrôle Habitacle) via the vehicle's PIN code. When replacing a used unit, virginisation is required before re-coding via Renault Clip or DiagBox.

ECU · EMS · DCM · DDCi
ECU
The engine control unit is coded to the UCH via the vehicle's PIN code and cannot be installed in another vehicle without virginisation. We return the unit to virgin state before coding to a new UCH via Renault Clip or DiagBox.

UCH · BSI · BODY CONTROL
UCH
The UCH is the vehicle's immobiliser hub, controlling start authorisation, central functions and alarm. When replacing a used UCH, virginisation and re-coding with PIN against the current key set and engine control unit is required.

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER · TABLEAU DE BORD
Instrument Cluster
The instrument cluster stores odometer data and vehicle coding. We clear vehicle data and return the unit to virgin state before installation and re-coding in the receiving vehicle.

AIRBAG · SRS · CRASH CONTROL UNIT
Airbag / SRS
When an airbag system has deployed, crash dumps and a VIN lock are stored in the SRS module. We clear crash dumps and repair the VIN binding — a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new SRS unit.
What customers say
Real results. Real customers.
“Sent in a Volvo CEM P3 that was completely dead after water damage. Got back a cloned unit that worked straight away — no dealer, no coding session. Done within two days.”
Marcus L.
Independent workshop, Gothenburg
“My BMW CAS3 had an immobiliser fault and the car would not start. OBD Tuning cloned a donor unit and synchronised it with my DME. The car starts fine now and the cost was a fraction of the dealer quote.”
Anna K.
Private customer, Stockholm
“I work with second-hand control units and regularly send units here for cloning and virginisation. Fast handling, clear communication on donor selection, and always a correct result. Highly recommended.”
Tobias R.
Vehicle technician, Malmö
