The BECM checks whether the control signal to battery coolant pump A is reasonable for the pump's operation. The fault is a performance fault: the control signal lies outside the normal range. It may come from the pump itself or from the cooling around it, such as a coolant level that is too low or air in the system.

- Poor contact or oxidation in the connectors
- The battery coolant level is too low
- Air in the battery cooling loop
- Battery coolant pump A is damaged
