The CEM registers a passenger seat belt buckle reading outside the permitted limits. The fault is permanent. The usual cause is an unstable signal or an open circuit in the wiring or connectors. The SRS warning lamp is lit.

- 1Safety: the seat belt system is part of the crash protection. Do not work on the seat belt buckle wiring yourself; have a workshop check it
- 2Look for loose, corroded or chafed connectors at the passenger's buckle, without removing anything. If you find one, have a workshop fix it
- 3With a diagnostic tool, read the fault code after switching the ignition off and on, and see whether it returns
- 4After the work, clear the code and check that the SRS warning lamp goes out
