CEM-P165312 - Power Steering Output Circuit. General Electrical Failures. Circuit short to battery
Układ
Centralny moduł elektroniczny (CEM)
Modele Volvo, których dotyczy ten kod błędu
Dotyczy następujących modeli:
7 modeliS60 (2011–), S80 (2007–), V60 (2011–), V60 Cross Country (2015–), V70 (2008–), XC60 (2009–), XC70 (2008–)
Co oznacza ten kod błędu?
The CEM sends a frequency-modulated signal to the speed-dependent power steering module (HPAS), and the signal wire is shorted to supply voltage. The voltage then stays constantly high, and the speed-dependent power steering may stop regulating. The fault applies to the V60, S60 and similar models that have this system.
Możliwe przyczyny
- The signal wire to the HPAS module is shorted to supply voltage
Co możesz zrobić
- 1Start the engine and turn the steering wheel slowly from side to side. If it is stiff when the car is stationary, the fault is active
- 2Check the power steering module fuse in the engine bay relay and fuse box. If it has blown, check its circuit for a short to earth before replacing it
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with supply voltage with the ignition on
- 4With a diagnostic tool, clear the fault codes and run a short test. If the fault returns straight away, it is active
- 5Steering is a safety function. Have a workshop repair the fault promptly rather than putting it off
- 6After the work, check that the steering wheel turns easily and that the fault code does not return
Objawy, które możesz zauważyć1
- The power steering assistance control does not work
Na co może wpływać usterka2
- The function switches off during the driving cycle in which the fault is detected
- After 100 driving cycles with the fault present, the function is switched off permanently
