The control module (ECM) receives the temperature from each injector and compares the values with calibrated limits. The code is set when the temperature from the injector on cylinder 2 exceeds the highest permitted value. The cause may be looseness or oxidation in the connectors, or a damaged injector.

4Clear the code and run the engine to see whether it returns
5If the fault remains after these checks, the injector on cylinder 2 has to be replaced, which is a workshop job
