The fault concerns ignition coil B, and the signal wire to the coil is shorted to supply voltage. The code is stored when the incorrect value lasts longer than a set time and stays over several driving cycles in a row.

- Contact resistance and oxidation in the connections
- Signal wire short circuit to supply voltage
- Damaged ignition coil

- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, start the engine and read the fault status. 'Fault found' means the fault is permanent.
- 2Check that the fuses are intact.
- 3With the ignition off, check the connector at ignition coil B for contact resistance and oxidation.
- 4Check that the signal wire to ignition coil B has no chafing and cannot touch a live supply wire.
- 5Check that the ignition coil is secure and not damaged.
- 6If the fault returns, have a workshop check ignition coil B and its wiring.
