The engine control module monitors the fuel system and how the injectors are grouped, with cylinders 2 and 3 belonging to bank 2. The fault code is set when the signal to bank 2 is incorrect, and here the problem is a short to battery voltage.

- Open or short circuit in the wiring
- Damaged injection valves
- A fault inside the engine control module (ECM)

- 1With the ignition off, check that the wires to the bank 2 injectors have no contact with battery voltage
- 2Look for chafed wiring to the bank 2 injectors that may have touched a supply wire
- 3Check that the connectors at the bank 2 injectors are free from corrosion, oxidation and looseness
- 4Have a workshop measure the resistance of the injectors and assess the control module if the fault remains
