The high voltage generator control module (IGM) receives cooling system information from the engine control module (ECM) over the CAN bus. The code is stored when the cooling system signal is too high. The fault is only checked once the test has started at ignition on.

- Damaged coolant temperature sensor
- Software fault in the engine control module (ECM)
- Software fault in the IGM

- 1Read out and clear the code, start the car and see whether it returns
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment: check in live data whether the coolant temperature jumps while the engine is running
- 3Have a workshop check the coolant pump and the coolant temperature sensor
- 4Have a workshop check whether new software is available for the engine control module and the IGM and install it if needed
- 5The high voltage system may only be handled by a workshop; do not work on it yourself
