The telephone module (PHM) monitors the crash signal from the airbag control module (SRS). The fault is stored when the signal wire is short-circuited to supply voltage or has an open circuit. The fault lies in the wire, not in the telephone, but it can leave Volvo On Call reduced or without function.

- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The fuse locations are shown in the owner's manual or on the cover of the fuse box
- 2Start the engine and let it run for a while. The code is only tested then, so this shows whether the fault is still present
- 3The airbag system is a safety system. Do not work on the airbag wiring yourself; have a workshop check the wire
- 4Look for broken wires and loose connectors close to the telephone module and the airbag control module
