Although the code name refers to a high signal, it applies when the voltage on the signal line from the passenger airbag switch is too low. This can be caused by a short to ground in the wiring, the connectors or the switch.

- Short to ground inside the passenger airbag switch

- 1Have a workshop visually check the connector to the passenger airbag switch and the connector to the SRS control module for chafing, crush damage and corrosion
- 2Have a workshop examine the wiring between the control module and the switch for chafing and spots where it may touch the body
- 3Clear the code and see if it comes back
- 4If it comes back, have a workshop check the wiring for a short to ground with diagnostic equipment and replace the switch if needed
- 5Do not work on the airbag system yourself; have a workshop check it
