Shift fork 2 moves away from the N position without the transmission control module (TCM) having requested any movement. The fault comes from either the hydraulics or the position sensor, and both parts are in the mechatronic unit.

- Damaged position sensor

- 1Read out the fault codes from the transmission control module and deal first with any codes that may share the same cause
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment, check in live data whether the position value for shift fork 2 changes when the selector is in N
- 3Both fault sources are in the mechatronic unit, so a workshop should replace it, road test the car and then read out whether the fault code remains
