Shift fork 3 moves away from the N position without the transmission control module (TCM) having requested it. The cause may be a hydraulic fault or a damaged position sensor, and both can be in the mechatronic unit.

- 1Read out the fault codes from the transmission control module again to see whether the fault is in the transmission or in the mechatronic unit
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment, check the position value for shift fork 3 in live data while the selector is in N
- 3A workshop should replace the mechatronic unit, since both possible faults are located there; then road test and check the code
