Technical Description
DTC B0012 indicates a circuit fault within the passenger frontal airbag stage 2 deployment loop (squib circuit). The Restraints Control Module (RCM) performs continuous low-current loop impedance monitoring. If the detected loop resistance falls outside the nominal diagnostic threshold (typically 1.8 to 3.2 Ohms)—caused by an open circuit, short to battery/ground, or high terminal contact resistance—the code is flagged, illuminating the SRS MIL and inhibiting stage 2 deployment.
Possible Causes
1. Oxid, glappkontakt eller dåligt låst sekundärlås (CPA) i kontaktstycket bakom handskfacket/instrumentpanelen
2. Skadad eller klämd kabelstam i instrumentbrädans kablage
3. Defekt tändpiller (Stage 2 squib) i passagerarairbagmodulen
4. Intern hårdvaruskada/drivstegsfel i SRS/RCM-styrenheten

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
