01. Background
Professional engine tuning
Car manufacturers often limit engine performance in software to sell the same engine at different price points. We unlock the built-in potential by optimising your engine control unit (ECU).
By adjusting parameters like boost pressure, fuel quantity and ignition timing we create a car that is stronger, more responsive and in many cases more fuel-efficient. No physical modifications required – everything is done via software.
We always save your original software so the car can be restored to factory settings at any time.
Why is the engine restricted?
- The same engine is sold at different power levels – only the software differs
- Safety margins for varying fuel quality and climate conditions
- Service contracts and optional extras are sold as upgrades
- The factory calibrates conservatively to cover every country and fuel type
02. Parameters
What we calibrate
Common Rail Pressure
Injector pressure optimised
Modern diesel cars use high common rail pressure (usually locked by the factory ECU). We raise this toward the engine's actual capacity for better fuel atomisation and more efficient combustion.
Injection Sequence
Timing and quantity per cycle
Modern engines with multi-injection (pilot, main, post-injection) receive optimised injection for every RPM and load point. The result is better torque from low revs.
Turbo Boost Control
Boost pressure tuned per RPM
We optimise the boost curve to extract more pressure from low RPM right through to higher revs. The turbo still operates within safe limits but delivers more power on demand.
Drivers Wish Map
Throttle response and power curve optimised
Modern ECUs control how quickly and powerfully the engine responds to the accelerator pedal via a Drivers Wish map. We give it a more linear and direct response – the car feels livelier without becoming jerky.
Torque Limiter
Factory torque limit raised
The manufacturer applies a software torque limit that is lower than what the engine can actually handle. We raise this in a controlled way so more torque is available – especially in the lower rev range where a diesel engine works best.
Charge Air Temperature
Thermal tolerance adjusted
The ECU reads the charge air temperature and reduces power if the value exceeds the factory threshold. We gently adjust these thresholds – the engine performs consistently under normal conditions without compromising safety margins.
03. Optimisation
Stage 1
Software
Stage 1 is our most popular service. It is a pure software optimisation designed for a completely stock car. No mechanical changes are needed to achieve noticeable results.
The optimisation normally takes 1–3 hours and delivers an immediate improvement in both torque and horsepower. The car feels more responsive, reacts faster to the throttle and becomes noticeably more enjoyable to drive.
What's included in Stage 1?
- No hardware required
- Original software backup preserved
- Individually tailored optimisation
- Fully reversible
- Within the engine's designed limits
