Technical Description
DTC B0018 indicates an electrical fault in the Right Curtain/Side Deployment Loop (Squib Circuit). The Restraints Control Module (RCM/SDM) monitors the deployment loop impedance using a low-amperage bias test current (<20 mA). If the loop resistance drops below ~1.2 Ω (short circuit), exceeds ~3.6–4.5 Ω (open circuit/high resistance), or encounters a short-to-ground/short-to-voltage condition, the DTC is latched and the airbag warning light is illuminated, disabling deployment for that specific loop.
Possible Causes
1. Dålig kontakt, oxidation eller utvidgade terminalstift i takklädselns eller A/B/C-stolpens kontaktstycken.
2. Aktiverad eller deformerad kortslutningsbygel (shorting bar) inuti krockgardinens kontaktstycke som felaktigt kortsluter stiften.
3. Klämskada, skav eller ledningsbrott i kablaget längs takbalken eller stolparna.
4. Defekt tändpärla (squib) med avbrott/internt fel i krockgardinsmodulen.
5. Internt hårdvarufel i krockkuddsstyrdonet (RCM/SDM).
