Technical Description
DTC B0053 signifies a circuit malfunction within the Passenger Seatbelt Pretensioner Deployment Loop. The Restraints Control Module (RCM) performs continuous low-current diagnostic loop monitoring. If measured circuit resistance drifts outside the strict operational window (typically 1.8 to 3.2 Ω) due to open circuit, high resistance from terminal fretting, or short to ground/power, DTC B0053 is set and the SRS warning lamp is illuminated, suppressing deployment capability for the affected sub-circuit.
Possible Causes
1. Kontaktpressning / mikrovibrationer (fretting corrosion) i det gula kontaktdonet under passagerarsätet eller vid B-stolpen.
2. Skadat kablage i golvmattan på grund av fukt, klämskador eller sätesjustering fram/tillbaka.
3. Defekt tändsats/pyroteknisk patron i passagerarens bältesförsträckare (avbrott eller för hög inre resistans).
4. Defekt kortslutningsbygel (shorting bar) i kontaktdonet som inte separerar korrekt när kontakten trycks ihop.
5. Internt hårdvarufel i SRS-styrdonet (RCM).
