Technical Description
The Restraint Control Module (RCM) continuously monitors the peripheral restraint/side impact sensor loop. DTC B0098 triggers when the RCM detects an electrical circuit malfunction—such as open circuit, short to ground/voltage, out-of-range quiescent current draw, or frame communication failure on digital data buses (e.g., PSI5/PAS4). Active DTC disables corresponding deployment stages.
Possible Causes
1. Skadat kablage eller ärgade kontaktstift i dörrgenomföring / B-stolpe / tröskelkanal
2. Defekt satellitsensor (internt sensorfel eller fuktinträngning i sensorhus)
3. Glappkontakt i RCM-huvudkontaktstycke eller skadad kortslutningsbygel (shorting bar)
4. Internt hårdvarufel/drivstegsfel i SRS-styrdonet (RCM)
