Technical Description
DTC B0194 indicates a circuit or communication fault associated with a peripheral satellite crash sensor (accelerometer) or pretensioner deployment loop, typically installed in the B-pillar or sill area. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Diagnostic Module continuously monitors the loop using a two-wire current-loop interface (e.g., PSI5 or proprietary Manchester-encoded serial bus). DTC B0194 triggers if the module detects an open circuit, short to power/ground, incorrect quiescent current (<4 mA or >14 mA), or corrupted periodic telemetry data frames.
Possible Causes
1. Övergångsresistans eller korrosion i skarvdon/kontaktstycke vid B-stolpe eller dörrgenomföring.
2. Skadat kablage (klämd eller skavd ledningsmatta under tröskellist/golvmatta p.g.a. fukt eller montering).
3. Defekt satellit-accelerometer (krocksensor skadad av vatteninträngning eller mekanisk stöt).
4. Defekt SRS-styrenhet (intern ASIC/transceiver-fel i SDM-modulen).

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
