Technical Description
DTC C0061 indicates an electrical circuit malfunction, range/performance issue, or plausibility failure associated with the Lateral Acceleration Sensor. The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM/ESP) performs cross-plausibility checks between lateral G-force, yaw rate, wheel speeds, and steering angle input. If the sensor's static offset exceeds calibration limits (typically drifting away from the nominal 2.50 V zero-point on analog systems) or experiences communication loss/signal distortion over CAN/SENT from the sensor cluster (IMU), the ESC functions are inhibited to prevent unintended brake interventions.
Possible Causes

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
