Technical Description
DTC C0083 denotes a circuit malfunction within the Brake System Indicator control circuit. The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) or Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the state of the low-side driver controlling the brake warning lamp and/or the fluid level switch circuit. The DTC is triggered when the diagnostic monitor detects an open circuit, short to ground, or short to voltage where the commanded state does not match the monitored voltage feedback on the driver output pin.
Possible Causes
1. Mekaniskt kärvande eller elektriskt oxiderad bromsvätskenivågivare i expansionskärlet.
2. Skadat kablage (avbrott eller kortslutning mot jord/plåt) mellan EBCM, nivåvakt och instrumentkluster.
3. Defekt utgångsdrivsteg (MOSFET/transistor) i EBCM eller internt fel i instrumentklustrets (IPC) drivkrets.
