Technical Description
DTC C0090 indicates an electrical malfunction in the brake lining wear sensor circuit or related brake system monitoring circuit. The control module (ABS/BCM) applies a reference pull-up voltage (typically 5V or 12V) through a continuous monitoring loop. The DTC sets when the detected circuit voltage or impedance falls outside factory-defined thresholds, indicating an open circuit (worn brake pad breach or broken wire harness), short to ground, or high resistance caused by contact corrosion.
Possible Causes
1. Utslitna bromsbelägg där sensorns kontaktbana nötts av mot bromsskivan (normal slitagedetektering).
2. Kabelbrott eller mekanisk skada på kablaget i hjulhuset orsakat av fjädrings- och styrrörelser.
3. Oxiderade eller vattenfyllda kontaktstycken vid anslutningen mellan fjäderben och innerskärm.
4. Felaktigt monterat kablage efter tidigare bromsbyte vilket lett till skav mot fälg eller drivaxel.
5. Internt hårdvarufel i styrdonets (ABS/BCM) ingångssteg/pull-up-krets.
