Technical Description
DTC C0268 indicates an electrical or hydraulic malfunction within the Brake Pressure Sensor (Master Cylinder Pressure Transducer) circuit or related pump/modulator control circuit in the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM/HCU). The EBCM continuously monitors the sensor signal voltage under resting, active braking, and pressure release conditions. If the signal voltage deviates outside the rational range (e.g., <0.2V or >4.8V on a regulated 5V analog line), or a persistent pressure offset is detected when brake pedal is at rest (BLS off), C0268 is triggered, leading to ABS/TCS/ESC deactivation.
Possible Causes
1. Defekt integrerad eller extern bromstryckgivare i HCU/bromscylinder (internt givarfel/offsetfel)
2. Oxiderade eller glappande kontaktstift/ledningsbrott i kabelmattan mellan EBCM och bromstrycksgivare
3. Luft i hydraulsystemet eller blockerad mekanisk returventil/huvudbromscylinder som skapar resttryck
4. Internt kretskortshaveri i ABS/ESP-styrenheten (EBCM/ECU drivsteg eller AD-omvandlare)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
