Technical Description
DTC C0292 indicates a circuit malfunction or range/performance issue with the brake line pressure sensor. Typically utilizing a piezoresistive strain-gauge transducer housed within the Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU) or brake master cylinder, the sensor relies on a 5.0V reference and a dedicated analog ground. It outputs a linear 0.5V to 4.5V DC signal proportional to hydraulic pressure (0 to 200+ bar). The Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) triggers C0292 when the signal voltage deviates outside plausible operating limits, exhibits high-frequency noise/dropouts, or fails correlation checks against pedal travel and stop lamp switch inputs.
Possible Causes
1. Defekt bromstryckssensor (internt membranhaveri eller piezoresistiv drift i HCU/huvudcylinder)
2. Kablagefel: Hög resistans/avbrott eller kortslutning mot jord på signalledningen mellan trycksensor och ABS/EBCM
3. Korrosion eller bromsvätskeläckage i sensoranslutningens kontaktstycke
4. Intern skada på ABS/EBCM-styrenhetens 5V-referensmatning eller A/D-ingång

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
