Technical Description
DTC C0298 is triggered when the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) detects an invalid, missing, or out-of-range torque reduction signal from the ECM/PCM or a plausibility mismatch from the brake hydraulic pressure transducer. As a fail-safe mechanism, the traction control and stability control systems are deactivated to prevent uncommanded engine torque limitation.
Possible Causes
1. Skadat ledningsnät, korrosion eller oxid i kontaktstycken mellan EBCM och ECM.
2. Defekt eller driftande hydraulisk bromstrycksgivare (Brake Pressure Sensor) i ABS-hydraulblocket.
3. Felaktig nollpunktskalibrering eller intern hårdvarudefekt i EBCM (ABS-styrenhet).

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
