Technical Description
P010C is triggered when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects a signal from the secondary Mass Air Flow (MAF) 'B' sensor that is lower than the calibrated minimum threshold. In dual-bank or twin-intake systems, 'B' refers to the second flow meter. The ECU relies on this input to calculate engine load and fuel injection pulse width. A 'Circuit Low' condition typically indicates an electrical short to ground, a disconnected sensor, or a physical restriction preventing air from reaching the sensor element.
Possible Causes
Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor (Bank B)
Contaminated sensor element (oil/dirt from aftermarket filters)
Open circuit or short to ground in the signal or reference wiring
Intake air leak after the sensor or severely clogged air filter

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
