Technical Description
P0560 is a generic OBD-II code indicating the Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected an improper voltage level from the battery or charging system. The ECM monitors system voltage to ensure stable operation of processors and sensors. If the voltage remains outside the calibrated range (typically below 10V or above 16V depending on OEM logic) for a predetermined duration, the code is stored. This fault can destabilize the CAN-bus network and cause various modules to enter fail-safe modes.
Possible Causes
Defective or discharged battery
Failing alternator or internal voltage regulator
Excessive resistance or corrosion in battery cables/ground straps
Damaged wiring harness to the ECM or internal ECM fault

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
