Technical Description
P0561 is stored when the Engine Control Module (ECM/PCM) detects that the system voltage is unstable or fluctuating outside of normal operating parameters. Standard operating voltage should remain steady between 13.2V and 14.8V while the engine is running. Rapid fluctuations trigger this code as the erratic supply can interfere with microprocessor logic, sensor reference voltages, and CAN-bus communication stability.
Possible Causes
Faulty voltage regulator within the alternator
Poor connection or corrosion at battery terminals or ground points
Defective battery (internal short or high internal resistance)
Main relay issues or damaged wiring harness to the ECM

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
