P056F is stored when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) determines that the engine coolant temperature has not reached the required threshold for the Auto Stop/Start system to engage within a specific time or distance window. This is a rationality check where the ECU compares the actual warm-up rate to a predicted model. If the temperature remains too low (typically under 60-70°C during active driving), the system disables the stop/start function to prevent engine wear and ensure cabin heating performance. This code is often triggered by a thermostat stuck open or a coolant temperature sensor (ECT) that is out of calibration but still within electrical range.
