Technical Description
P0570 is stored when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects an invalid or out-of-range voltage signal from the Cruise Control 'Set/Accel' switch. The system monitors the switch assembly through a resistive ladder network. If the return voltage does not match any predefined values for a specific period, the ECM flags an invalid signal and disables the cruise control system to ensure vehicle safety, often communicating this fault across the CAN bus.
Possible Causes
Faulty cruise control switch (internal short or oxidation)
Wiring issue or frayed wires in the steering column (clockspring failure)
High resistance in connectors between steering wheel and ECU
Software glitch or internal fault in the Steering Wheel Module (SWM)

Mechanic's Tip
Before replacing expensive components, always double-check wiring and connections. 80% of all sensor faults are actually due to corroded contacts or broken wires.
