What does this fault code mean?
The ABS control module is receiving a faulty signal from the wheel speed sensor on the right rear wheel. The fault most often lies in the connectors or the wiring to the sensor, because the signal becomes irregular. The wires may be routed too close to a source of interference or have damaged insulation. The equivalent code for the left rear wheel is ABS-0032.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Loose connection in the wiring or its joints
- Wiring routed too close to a source of interference
- Damaged cable insulation
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the connectors at the right rear wheel sensor and at the ABS control module for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Check that the connectors and the cable insulation are intact
- 4Check that the sensor wiring is not routed too close to sources of electrical interference
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensor and the wiring
- 6ABS is safety-critical – do not work on the brake system yourself, have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice4

- Traction control warning lamp does not work
- Brake system warning lamp lit
- ABS function is absent
What the fault can affect3
- ABS function is blocked
- Traction control function is blocked
- Brake force distribution is blocked
