Volvo models this fault code applies to
This fault code has different meanings depending on model, model year or engine. Select the meaning that applies to your car.
Applies to the following models:

What does this fault code mean?
The battery voltage is too low and the fault is present right now. The ABS control module cannot work with sufficient voltage, so ABS, traction control and stability control are blocked. The cause often lies in the battery, the charging or the connectors to the module.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Faulty alternator
- Disturbances on the wires
What you can do
- 1Start the engine and check that battery voltage is normal at idle; if it is too low, the charging system should be investigated
- 2Check the condition of the battery and that its terminals are secure
- 3Inspect the connector on the ABS module for poor contact and oxidation
- 4Check the fuses for the ABS system supply
- 5After any repair, read the code to confirm the fault has been fixed
- 6ABS is safety-critical – have a workshop deal with the charging system and the ABS control module
