What does this fault code mean?
At some point the ABS control module registered an internal fault in its valve circuits or in its calculations. The fault is intermittent and may have been caused by interference, a connector problem or a temporary internal disturbance. The code also covers certain faults in the anti-spin valve circuit.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance in the connections
- Interference that has affected the control module's calculations
- Internal fault in the control module
What you can do
- 1Read the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Inspect the connector on the ABS module for poor contact and oxidation
- 3Because the fault is intermittent, a temporary disturbance may have caused it, so check whether the code returns
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the valve circuits and the control module
- 5ABS is safety-critical – do not work on the ABS control module or the brake system yourself, have a workshop do it
