What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module sends a torque signal over the data network, and the ABS control module uses it to regulate the anti-spin function. If the ABS module receives a faulty torque signal, the code is set and anti-spin is disengaged. The fault normally lies in the engine management system, not in the ABS module.
Possible causes
- Fault in the engine management system
- Interference on the data network affecting the torque signal
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the engine control module and trace any faults there first
- 2Check that the engine runs normally, since irregularities there can give a faulty torque signal
- 3Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the torque signal and the engine management
- 5ABS is safety-critical – do not work on the brake system yourself, have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice2
- Anti-spin warning lamp lit
- Anti-spin does not work
What the fault can affect1
- Anti-spin function is disengaged
