What does this fault code mean?
The pedal pressure sensor sits inside the brake booster and tells the ABS control module when stability control has to be disengaged, for example when the driver presses the brake. At some point the module registered a faulty signal from the sensor, and the fault is intermittent. This code applies only to cars with stability control, while anti-spin and stability are blocked.
Possible causes
- Resistance build-up or corrosion at the plugs and joints
- Open circuit in the wiring
- Wiring shorted to ground or supply voltage
- Faulty pedal pressure sensor or defective control module
What you can do
- 1Inspect the plugs on the ABS module and on the pedal sensor for resistance and corrosion
- 2Check that the sensor wiring has no breaks or chafing, especially if the fault is intermittent
- 3Remedy as necessary and road test
- 4Clear the code and check whether it returns
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the sensor and the module
- 6ABS and stability control are safety-critical – do not work on the brake booster or brake system yourself, have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice3
- Stability function is absent
- Anti-spin function does not work
- Anti-spin warning lamp lit
What the fault can affect2
- Anti-spin function is blocked
- Stability function is blocked
