What does this fault code mean?
The ABS module has not picked up the reading from the steering angle sensor, which the SAS module puts onto the data network. The cause can be disturbances on the data network or an internal fault in the steering angle sensor control unit. This code applies only to cars with stability control, and anti-spin and stability are blocked.
Possible causes
- Disturbances on the CAN network
- Internal fault in the steering wheel angle sensor (SAS) control unit
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the central electronic module (CEM) and in the steering angle sensor control unit
- 2Troubleshoot according to the codes in those systems
- 3Check the battery and its terminals, since voltage problems can disturb the data network
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the data network and the steering angle sensor control unit
- 5ABS, stability and steering are safety-critical – do not work on these systems yourself, have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice3
- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function is absent
- Anti-spin warning lamp lit
What the fault can affect2
- Anti-spin function is blocked
- Stability function is blocked
