What does this fault code mean?
The ABS control module has not received a reversing signal, although one is expected. The fault may therefore come from another system, for example the central electronic module, or from a wire between the systems. This code applies only to cars with stability control, and anti-spin and stability are blocked while the fault is present.
Possible causes
- Fault in another system that should send the reversing signal
- Open circuit in the reversing signal wire
- Faulty ABS control module (uncommon)
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the central electronic module and the driver information module and deal with those first
- 2On cars with an automatic gearbox, check the gearbox control module as well
- 3Check that the reversing lights work when reverse gear is selected
- 4Check that the reversing signal wire is intact and the connectors are secure
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment trace the system that supplies the signal
- 6ABS and stability control are safety-critical – do not work on the ABS module or the brake system yourself, have a workshop do it
Symptoms you may notice3
- Anti-spin does not work
- Stability function is absent
- Anti-spin warning lamp lit
What the fault can affect2
- Anti-spin function is blocked
- Stability function is blocked
