What does this fault code mean?
The additive dosing module (ADM) has found an open circuit in the wiring to the additive pump. Without a signal from the pump circuit, additive cannot be dosed, and the fault shows up as the emissions warning lamp. The pump is built into the additive tank, so it is not replaced separately.
Possible causes
- Poor contact, resistance or corrosion at the terminals
- Break in the wiring to the additive pump
- Damaged additive pump
- Damaged additive dosing module (ADM)
What you can do
- 1Check the connector at the additive tank for looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 2Look for breaks in the wiring to the pump, especially where it enters the tank
- 3Clear the code and check whether it returns
- 4If the code returns with no visible cause, the additive tank may need replacing because the pump is inside it
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the pump and the module
Symptoms you may notice1
- Emissions warning lamp lit
